NEW YORK – New York City business activity improved for the first time in four month, the Institute for Supply Management-New York’s Report on Business current business conditions index indicated.
The current business conditions index climbed to 58.3 in September from 55.6 in August.
A reading above 50.0 indicates expansion.
The report’s six-month outlook index increased to 64.8 from 58.4. The NY-BCI climbed to 470.6 from 466.5.
The prices paid composite index grew to 53.3 this month from 43.2 last month, the quantity of purchases composite index fell to 54.2 from 54.3, and the supplier delivery time diffusion index rose to 54.4 from 51.1. Employment rebounded to 53.3 from 50.0.
