BDA Moving to K St. to Allow Growth, Enhance Lobbying Efforts

WASHINGTON – Bond Dealers of America plans to move its offices to K Street here on Dec. 7 to have more space in which to grow and to continue to enhance its lobbying efforts.

Jessica Giroux, general counsel and managing director of federal regulatory policy with BDA, said the middle market dealer group will move to 1909 K Street NW, which will allow it to stay in the city and not far from Capitol Hill. BDA felt it was outgrowing its current space at 21 Dupont Circle and wanted a larger office to expand its representation of regional dealer firms and have the option of expanding its internal staff, she said. There are currently five people on BDA's internal staff who divide up the group's work.

"We've been around for almost eight years, so growing into a new space is just a natural result of the increased and improved representation we are providing to our members," Giroux said. She added BDA is excited to have a location on the nationally known K Street, which she called "the pulse of DC." The street, well known for housing powerful lobbying firms while not originally one of the requirements for a new office, is emblematic of BDA's increased efforts to strengthen its lobbying efforts, Giroux said.

The new space will have extra offices for visiting BDA members to have a "home base" when they come to town and will provide BDA with its own conference room.

All phone numbers and addresses for current staff will remain the same through the move.
