Butler Snow adds public finance attorney

WASHINGTON – Kevin White has joined Butler Snow’s public finance, tax incentives and credit markets group in Richmond, Va., expanding the firm’s bond counsel practice in the state and the Southeast.

The group currently has about 40 lawyers, according to the firm.

White’s focus in on representing financial institutions, hospitals and health care organizations, higher education institutions, as well as providers of governmental infrastructure and affordable housing in a variety of transactions, especially those using tax-exempt bonds, tax credits and other incentives.

White was recognized by Virginia Business Magazine as a member of Virginia’s Legal Elite from 2011 – 2017.

Before he joined Butler Snow, he was an attorney at Kaufman & Canoles from 2008 through June 2018, practicing public finance and corporate law.

He worked at the firm of LeClairRyan for a year in 2007 and 2008 and practiced at Wilcox & Savage from 2004 through 2007.

White obtained his law degree cum laude from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 2004. He received a certificate of public management, public administration from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2001. He earned his bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in economics/business and political science from Randolph-Macon College in 1999.
