Treasury Strips Up $3.852B in July

Newly issued Treasury securities held in stripped form increased $3.852 billion in July to a total of $200.405 billion, the Treasury Department reported yesterday.

Through the separate trading of registered interest and principal of securities program, or STRIPS, about $40.771 billion of Treasury securities were reconstituted in July, down $15.087 billion from $55.858 billion in June.

Securities eligible for stripping totaled $3.651 trillion in July, up about $50 billion from $3.601 trillion in June. Some $3.451 trillion were held in unstripped form.
