The Treasury Department Thursday sold $7 billion of inflation-indexed 29-year 4-month bonds at a 0.985% yield, an adjusted price of 112.167585, with a 1 3/8% coupon.
The bid-to-cover ratio was 2.29.
All competitive tenders at yields lower than the high yield were accepted in full. Tenders at the market-clearing yield were allotted 92.20%.
The bonds are have an issue date of Oct. 31, a dated date of Aug. 15 and are due Feb. 15, 2044.
Among competitive tenders, the median yield was 0.929% and the low yield 0.849%, Treasury said.
Tenders totaled $16,022,554,300 of which the Treasury accepted $7,000,004,300. Noncompetitive tenders totaled $17,914,300. The Federal Reserve Banks bought nothing for their own accounts.
