Toledo joins Frasca from Wells Fargo Securities where she worked for the past seven years, Frasca announced on Monday. Previously, she headed the Northeast Region at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Over her 28 year career, she developed solutions to address financing and market challenges for large issuers throughout the Northeast, including Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts.

"Sonia and I have known each other for many years and we were colleagues at Merrill Lynch," said firm president and principal Doreen Frasca. "I have always had enormous respect for her client first philosophy and value added she provides her clients. I am so pleased she has decided to join the advisory side. Frasca is a perfect fit for her style of dedicated client focus."

Toledo is a past president of the Municipal Forum of New York and is vice-chair of Grow NYC, which supports environmental initiatives and farmers throughout New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. In 2015, she was selected as one of the Trailblazing Women in Public Finance.

Toledo grew up in Puerto Rico and is a graduate of Harvard University and Columbia Business School.

"We were looking for someone to expand Frasca's efforts into general government advisory and we are thrilled that someone of Sonia's caliber will lead this effort for the firm,” Ken Cushine, a principal of the firm said. “Her experience and profile among issuers will enable her to build a strong practice here.”

Toledo will join the firm in June.
