NEW YORK – The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia issued its annual historical revisions Thursday, with the December general business conditions index cut to 20.8 from 24.3.
The prices paid index was revised down to 47.9 from 51.2, while new orders index was revised down to 10.6 from 14.6, and employment was revised down to 4.3 from 5.1.
It's difficult to tell whether the markets were more affected by spiking oil prices, eroding peace talks between the United States and Iran, or Kevin Warsh's hawkish comments during his confirmation hearing to chair the Federal Reserve, said James Pruskowski, managing director at Hennion & Walsh.
