Renee Boicourt, a managing director at Moodys Investors Service, will be leaving the rating agency on Oct. 8.
Boicourt joined Moodys in 1987 as a senior analyst on the bond insurance team. Currently managing director of the states, high profile, and infrastructure teams, Boicourt oversees ratings for the largest credits in the public finance sector, including the 50 states, large cities, utilities, and transportation. The teams rated over $90 billion in bonds last year.
Throughout her 17 years at Moodys, [Boicourt] has made important contributions to the public finance business, according to a statement by Dennis Farrell, group managing director for public finance. We all will miss her dedication and knowledge.
Senior vice presidents, Bob Kurtter and Maria Matesanz, will manage the groups while permanent replacements are considered.
Boicourt expects to return to the public finance industry at a later time, a spokeswoman said yesterday. She is leaving to spend time with her children, she added.
Following several years on the bond insurance team, Boicourt served as an analyst for the New England region and the states team, where she became lead analyst for California and other states. Boicourt was subsequently made manager and then managing director of the states team. In 2001, she assumed management of Moodys infrastructure team.
