NEW YORK – New York City business activity improved at the fastest pace in eight months, the Institute for Supply Management-New York’s Report on Business current business conditions index indicated.
The current business conditions index climbed to 71.2 in December from 63.8 in December.
A reading above 50.0 indicates expansion.
The report’s six-month outlook index increased to 90.7 from 75.1. The NY-BCI climbed to 499.7 from 489.1.
The prices paid composite index grew to 52.2 this month from 48.5 last month, the quantity of purchases composite index rose to 52.1 from 50.0, and the supplier delivery time diffusion index climbed to 48.9 from 48.6. Employment increased to 54.3 from 52.9.
