Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said it raised its underlying rating to AA-minus from A-plus on Gibson County, Tenn.'s general obligation debt outstanding.
At the same time, Standard & Poor's assigned its AA-minus long-term rating to the county's series 2015 GO bonds. The outlook is stable.
"The upgrade is due primarily to a reduction in the county's unemployment rate and improved economic indicators, as well as a continued trend of strong budgetary performance," said Standard & Poor's credit analyst Lauren Spalten.
