Florida Department of Transportation Secretary Ananth Prasad has chosen a toll road industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience to be the executive director of Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise.
Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti will head up the state’s 460-mile turnpike system, which has $2.85 billion of outstanding debt.
Scaccetti most recently worked as a transportation consultant for Gutierrez Consulting Group LLC in Allentown, N.J.
From 1989 until 2010, she worked in various positions, including executive director her last two years, with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority.
The toll agency currently has $8.5 billion of outstanding debt.
“Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti is a proven leader with the financial and management experience to bring bold, innovative and new ideas to Florida’s Turnpike,” Prasad said. “Diane is an outstanding addition to the FDOT team and she is committed to building on the strong record at Florida’s Turnpike in order to make it the best in the nation.”
Scaccetti received a bachelor’s degree at the University of Connecticut and a master’s degree from Rutgers.
