NEW YORK – New York City business activity improved at the fastest pace in seven months, the Institute for Supply Management-New York’s Report on Business current business conditions index indicated.
The current business conditions index climbed to 70.0 in December from 65.6 in November.
A reading above 50.0 indicates expansion.
The report’s six-month outlook index increased to 75.2 from 71.9. The NY-BCI climbed to 495.7 from 485.7.
The prices paid composite index fell to 48.5 this month from 58.9 last month, the quantity of purchases composite index slid to 50.0 from 53.3, and the supplier delivery time diffusion index dropped to 48.6 from 52.2. Employment declined to 52.9 from 55.6.
