Consumer Sentiment Index Rises to 75.1 in February

The University of Michigan’s preliminary February consumer sentiment index reading was 75.1, compared to the final January 74.2 reading, the preliminary January 72.7 reading, and the December 74.5 reading, according to market sources.

Economists predicted a 75.0 reading.

The expectations index was 67.6, compared to 69.3 in January, 68.2 earlier in January, and 67.5 in December.

The current conditions index was 86.8, compared to 81.8 in January, 79.8 in mid-January, and 85.3 in December.
