The Chicago Fed Midwest manufacturing index soared 0.7% in October to a seasonally adjusted level of 80.9 the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago reported Monday.
At the national level, the Federal Reserve Board’s industrial production index grew 0.6% in October.
Overall manufacturing output in the Chicago region was up 8.6% in October on a year-over-year basis, compared with 6.7% output growth at the national level during the same period.
The Chicago level for September was revised upward to a gain of 0.2% to 80.3, from the 0.1% increase to 80.2 that was originally reported.
