The chart compares the tax provisions in the $819 billion economic stimulus measure approved by the House Wednesday with the provisions in the nearly $900 billion stimulus bill approved by the Senate Finance and Appropriations Committees Tuesday. The full Senate is expected to take up the bill this week. At least 60 Senators will have to approve “cloture” to limit debate on the bill and clear the way for a vote. Democratic leaders in the House and Senate would like to have a final bill to submit to President Obama before the President’s Day recess, which begins after Feb. 13.
