Carey Kirk Joins Siebert Brandford Shank

WASHINGTON — Leslie Carey Kirk has joined Siebert Brandford Shank & Co. Washington, D.C.'s office as general counsel for the firm.

Carey Kirk, was associate general counsel at the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board until last July. She had been there since September 2008.

Prior to her appointment at MSRB, Carey Kirk was senior counsel at Shefsky & Froelich in Chicago where she represented municipal issuers, underwriters and borrowers in various financings.  Before that, she was associate general counsel for the District of Columbia Housing Finance Agency where she counseled the agency on bond issuances, among other responsibilities.

During her 18-year career in the municipal market, she has served as bond, underwriter and issuer counsel to state and local governments and public authorities, including the D.C. Housing Finance Agency, the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority in Illinois, and the Illinois Finance Authority.

Carey Kirk earned a law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
