NY BCI Jumps to -4.55 From -14.65 in April: Fed

The Empire State Manufacturing Survey “indicates that conditions for New York manufacturers worsened only modestly in May,” the Federal Reserve Bank of New York reported Friday, as the general business conditions index narrowed to negative 4.55 in May from negative 14.65 in May.

Economists surveyed by Thomson Reuters had expected the index would be negative 12.00. The reading was the highest since last August.
