"We believe 2018 year will be a watershed year for market structure issues,” MSRB chair Lucy Hooper said.
MSRB executive director Lynnette Kelly said the board will be monitoring how the market reacts to a new tax code this year.

Edward Fierro, a senior counsel at Bracewell, said the new year could see SEC action on its proposed amendments to Rule 15c2-12.
Emily Brock, director of the Government Finance Officers Association’s Federal Liaison Center, said 2018 could see passage of a bill classifying more munis as high-quality liquid assets per federal banking rules.
