Jim Burton joined TD Financial Products in Charlotte as director of muni sales, as the firm expands its physical presence in the city.

Burton brings 35 years of municipal sales experience, most recently at Cantor Fitzgerald, TD Securities said. Previously he worked at Bank of America and Vining Sparks.

The new office is part of TD's aspiration to grow to a top-five bank in the U.S. from the eighth-largest, TD executives said.
