XL Capital Assurance Inc. recently added Leigh Shaffer and Matthew Sinni to its public finance team. Shaffer joined XLCA earlier this month as an assistant vice president, the same position she held at CDC IXIS Financial Guaranty. Prior to CIFG, Shaffer was an analyst for the municipal bond fund at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.
Sinni, a recent graduate of Hobart College with degrees in economics and American studies, joined XLCA as an analyst in August. Sinni was a credit-analyst intern with MBIA Insurance Corp. last summer.
Both report to Thomas Randazzo, XLCA managing director and head of the U.S. public finance group, who said, with Leigh and Matthew, we are continuing to hire strong people to meet the dramatic demand from bankers and investors for XLCA-insured municipal bonds.
XLCA, which has added four members to its public finance group this year, including directors Thomas Mulvilhill and Michael Linko, has no plans for additional hires, a spokesman said.
