U.S. government ran $176.2 billion deficit in Mar.

The federal government ran a $176.2 billion deficit in March, the Treasury Department reported Wednesday.

Outlays in March totaled $392.816 billion. Receipts totaled $216.584 billion.

For the fiscal year to date, the government has a $526.9 billion deficit, compared to a $459.4 billion deficit for the similar period in fiscal 2016.
