Standard & Poor's reported last week that it has streamlined its CreditWire ratings and research information service to make it more expedient and concise.
"It's the immediacy that we're trying to focus on here," said Ken Hoffman, director of digital feed products for credit information services at the agency.
CreditWire provides access to new-issue credit ratings, as well as upgrades and downgrades. Hoffman said that after subscribers receive an immediate media release that is short and concise, they can choose to access a longer and more detailed summary analysis. This way, he said, subscribers wouldn't be hit with long, detailed reports when they only have time for briefs containing nothing but the essentials.
Standard & Poor's also has launched CreditWire Japan, which provides daily credit ratings, research, and updates in Japanese on that nation's sovereign and corporate debt, financial institutions, and structured financings.
"Our Japanese buyers for many years have been buying English-only content," Hoffman said. "But they prefer it in their local language."
