Sheelagh Flanagan Exits BAM

Sheelagh Flanagan, a top executive at Build America Mutual since the bond insurer's inception in 2012, has left her position of head of the western region.

"Sheelagh contributed a lot to the launch of BAM, and we wish her the best of luck as she pursues new endeavors,” said a spokesperson for BAM, which didn’t give a reason for her departure. Flanagan didn’t respond to a request for comment sent via social media.

Dan Keating, senior managing director for capital markets at BAM, will lead the insurer’s west region efforts on an interim basis, the spokesperson said.

“Dan and the rest of our California-based team will maintain BAM’s high level of service to the region's issuers and the municipal market professionals who support them,” he said.

Prior to joining BAM, Flanagan was a managing director of financial security assurance at FSA/Assured Guaranty, where she worked for a span of a little over 14 and half years, according to Flanagan’s LinkedIn page.
