
SAN FRANCISCO — Seattle-Northwest Securities Corp. announced yesterday that it has hired veteran banker Richard A. Schober Jr. away from Goldman, Sachs & Co. Schober began work at the Seattle-based firm this month as a senior vice president of public finance.He was previously a Seattle-based vice president in Goldman, Sachs’ public sector and infrastructure banking group.At Seattle-Northwest, he will focus on banking and advisory services to the firm’s larger clients, including municipalities, transportation agencies and public power issuers.“Coming to SNW allows me to focus again on my core business practice of Northwest issuers, a client base that I’ve been covering my entire career,” Schober said in a news release.At Goldman, a large share of Schober’s work involved transportation issues, including the Port of Seattle and the Port of Tacoma; he also served as Sound Transit’s financial advisor for the Seattle region transportation authority’s first bond issue.“Dick is a well-respected figure in public finance throughout the Northwest,” Maud Daudon, president and chief executive of Seattle-Northwest, said in a statement. “With his extensive experience at both Goldman Sachs and Piper Jaffray & Co., he is a welcome addition to our team.”Schober worked with Piper Jaffray, as a public finance vice president and as manager of the firm’s Seattle public finance office, before moving to Goldman.
