LOS ANGELES — Anna Sarabian was promoted to partner at Fieldman, Rolapp & Associates, a California independent advisor, as part of the firm's expansion plans.

Sarabian, who has been with the firm since 2003, will take a lead role in helping to drive its initiatives for growth in Northern California and other U.S. states.

"We are proud to have Anna join our executive leadership team, and look forward to utilizing her unique expertise and perspective to pursue expanded opportunities for the firm," said Adam Bauer, the firm's president and chief executive officer, in a statement.

Bauer, who was promoted to CEO in January, said at the time the firm was looking to diversify service offerings to municipalities throughout the West and expand its geographical footprint with new office locations.

The 21-member firm has two offices: its Southern California headquarters in Irvine, and a Northern California office in Walnut Creek.

Fieldman, Rolapp ranked No. 6 among Far West municipal advisors for 2015, according to Thomson Reuters data.

Sarabian will focus predominantly on city, county and transportation clients. She will be chief advisor and strategist on investment activities including guidance for cities, redevelopment successor agencies, policy development, and capital structure planning and management.

Sarabian's "capacity for applying analytical thinking and commitment to gaining a thorough understanding of individual client needs has been a huge asset to the firm," Bauer said.

Sarabian is heavily involved in municipal industry organizations.

Those roles include serving her second term on the board of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Women in Public Finance. She also is a member of the League of California Cities, the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers, and the Association of Women in Water, Energy and the Environment.

She is a frequent presenter at the California Debt and Investment Advisory Commission municipal debt essentials seminar.

She received her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from the University of California-Riverside and her Ph.D. in economics from the Center for Economic Research and Graduate Education in Prague, the Czech Republic.

She holds the Certified Independent Municipal Advisor designation from the National Association of Municipal Advisors.
