S&P selects Eden Perry as head of public finance

S&P Global Ratings named analyst Eden Perry as head of public finance, United States and said Robin Prunty will continue as head of analytics, research and market education for U.S. public finance, a title she has held since 2016.

Perry is moving into the role previously held by Horacio Aldrete-Sanchez, who was appointed in October to lead the global practice in the structured finance practice, an S&P spokesperson said Thursday.

“I’m looking forward to continuing the great work of our USPF leadership team and working closely with my good friend and colleague, Robin,” Perry said.

Perry has more than 20 years of experience in public finance, both in the U.S. and globally. She first joined the company in 2001 as a U.S. public finance analyst and has most recently been S&P’s analytical manager for the state team since mid-2016. She has a Master of International Affairs in Economic and Political Development from Columbia University.

Perry will lead the USPF group, responsible for the delivery of timely analytical insights and active market engagement, S&P said. She will work closely with Prunty to support outreach across the sector and the promotion of S&P's analytical capabilities.

Prunty will represent U.S. public finance in discussions of S&P's municipal bond market and credit ratings, research and methodology with governments, investors, industry associations, media outlets and other market participants.

Prior to her current role, Prunty was a lead analytical manager with responsibility for the U.S. States, Higher Education and Not For Profit Health Care practices and analytical manager for the U.S. States and Public Higher Education Group. She was also the sector leader and spokesperson for state credit ratings from 2001-2010 and was part of the analytic team that followed credit issues relating to pensions and other post-employment benefits.

She is on the Board of Governors of the Municipal Forum of New York and a member of the Municipal Analysts Group of New York, National Federation of Municipal Analysts and Northeast Women in Public Finance.

Prunty has a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Siena College and a Master of Public Administration from the University at Albany - Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy.
