Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said it raised its rating to AAA from AA-plus on Rockville Centre, N.Y.'s general obligation debt.
It also assigned a AAA rating to the village's series 2015 public improvement GO bonds. The outlook is stable.
"The upgrade is based on the village's ability to consistently maintain balanced operations and strong liquidity during the recent recession," said Standard & Poor's credit analyst Danielle Leonardis.
A pledge of the village's full-faith-and-credit, resources, and an agreement to levy ad valorem property taxes without limitation as to rate or amount secure these bonds. Bond proceeds will finance various capital needs, including road, electric system, and water main improvements.
