Philadelphia Fed: non-mfg growth continues in Dec.

The region's non-manufacturing sector “continued to grow,” as the general business conditions index increased to 25.3 in December from 19.3 in November, this month's Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia Report on Business, released Friday, indicates.

At the company level, the general business activity index grew to 18.1 from 16.3.

The prices paid index was 27.5, up from 23.2 last month, new orders index fell to 8.7 from 16.5, sales or revenues rose to 26.7 from 15.8, the unfilled orders index gained to 10.2 from 5.2, the inventories index slid to 3.0 from 3.9, prices received soared to 11.8 from 0.3, the number of full time employees index slumped to 8.0 from 21.5, and the average employee workweek jumped to 24.2 from 18.8.

The six months from now regional general business conditions index rose to 39.2 from 31.3, while the company general business conditions index increased to 45.6 from 42.8.
