WASHINGTON — The National Federation of Municipal Analysts announced Susan Dushock as its new chairman and other new board of governors officers for 2014 on Monday.
Dushock, senior vice president at Sun Trust Bank, has served several leadership roles at the NFMA, and has been a member of the board since 2006 and a member of the executive committee for the past three years.
She replaces Jeffrey Burger of Standish Mellon Asset Management, who served as chairman in 2013. He will remain on the board's executive committee this year in an advisory capacity.
Dushock and the other officers will serve one-year terms.
Jennifer Johnston, a vice president at Franklin Templeton, is vice chairman.
Lisa Washburn, a managing director at Municipal Market Advisors, will move from her position as NFMA secretary to treasurer of the group.
Julie Egan, senior vice president and portfolio manager at Community Capital Management, is secretary.
The board of governors meets in person at least three times per year, usually the day before an NFMA seminar or conference, according to the group's website.
They govern an organization boasting roughly 1,300 members who primarily aim to educate and to promote high standards in municipal credit analysis. The group engages in advocacy work at times, such as making comments to the Governmental Accounting Standards Board.
