Pellegrini succeeds managing director Raymond Noga, who previously headed the Southeast and Southwest regions for Citigroup. Noga will now focus on overseeing the Southwest.
Pellegrini reports to Francis Chin, managing director and head of public finance.
Also coming over to Citigroup are Michael Baldwin, Nadine Mentor, and Mark Weinberg as director, vice president, and assistant vice president, respectively. Pellegrini and Baldwin started on June 13, while Weinberg and Mentor started on Monday. All four left UBS' Orlando office earlier this month.
A spokesman at Citigroup confirmed all four were hired.
Christine Anderson, a UBS spokeswoman, confirmed that all four had left the firm. "We're fully committed to maintaining our position in the Florida market," she said, declining to comment further.
In 2004, UBS ranked fourth in Florida as it served as senior manager on 23 deals totaling $1.11 billion, according to Thomson Financial. Citigroup held the No. 1 spot in the state, serving as underwriter on $2.55 billion in bonds through 37 deals. (c) 2005 The Bond Buyer and SourceMedia, Inc.
