MSRB Extends Terms of Nine Board Members

The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board announced Monday that it will extend the terms of nine board members beyond Sept. 30, 2012, to ensure it has three classes of seven members with staggered terms.

Of the nine members with extended terms, two were to have served three years on the board and will now serve a fourth year.

They are Alan Polsky, the current MSRB chairman, who is a senior vice president at Dougherty & Co. in Minneapolis, and Stephen Heaney, managing director and head of public finance at Stone & Youngberg LLC in San Francisco.

They were appointed to the board in 2009 and will now serve on it through Sept. 30, 2013.

Five others were appointed to the board in 2010 for two-year terms and their terms also will be extended through Sept. 30, 2013.

They are: Sheryl Bailey deputy county administrator for management services for Chesterfield County, Va.; Jay Goldstone, chief operating officer for San Diego; Robert Lamb, president of Lamont Financial Services Corp. in Wayne, N.J.; David Madigan, chief investment officer for Breckinridge Capital Advisors in Boston; and Ben Thompson, a founding principal of Samson Capital Advisors in New York.

Two other members who also were elected for two-year terms will now serve the board through Sept. 30 , 2014. They are are Robert Fippinger, senior counsel at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe in New York City and Noreen White, co-president of Acacia Financial Group in Montclair, N.J.
