Milwaukee ISM index shows toned down expectations

The seasonally adjusted Milwaukee Report on Business decreased to 59.62 in November from 63.61 in October, the Institute for Supply Management-Milwaukee reported Thursday.

New orders received rose to 66.46 from 63.27, production fell to 57.94 from 66.82, employment increased to 61.73 from 55.12, supplier deliveries decreased to 75.29 from 80.67, and backlog of orders grew to 30.00 from 57.50.

Inventory levels slumped to 36.67 from 52.17, customers’ inventories fell to 19.23 from 28.95, prices rose to 73.33 from 71.74, exports slid to 59.09 from 60.71, and imports declined to 66.67 from 67.86.

The blue collar diffusion index gained to 58.3 from 57.3, while the white collar diffusion index rose to 58.3 from 50.7.
