Durable Goods Orders Fall 0.9% in February

WASHINGTON — Durable goods orders fell 0.9% in February, the largest decrease since October, as orders excluding transportation goods dropped 0.6%, the Commerce Department reported Thursday.

Durable goods have fallen for four of the past five months. January orders were revised higher to a 3.6% increase from the 2.7% gain reported last month. Orders excluding transportation were revised higher to a 3.0% decline.

Economists expected durable goods would increase 1.0% in February, according to the median estimate from Thomson Reuters.
