Consumer Sentiment Slumps to 55.3 in Nov.

The University of Michigan’s final November consumer sentiment index reading was 55.3 compared to the preliminary November 57.9, the final October 57.6, and the preliminary October reading of 57.5, according to market sources.

Economists polled by Thomson Reuters had predicted a 57.9 reading for the index.

The expectations index was 53.9 and compared to 55.7 at mid-November, 57.0 in October, and 56.7 earlier that month.

The current conditions index was 57.5 and compared to 61.4 in mid-month, 58.4 last month, and 58.9 in mid-October.
