Connecticut Appoints Wagner to Budget Post

Natalie Sage Wagner as will serve as Connecticut's undersecretary for legal affairs effective Oct. 17, state budget secretary Ben Barnes announced.

"Natalie has an impressive range of legal experience in state government," said Barnes, whose formal title is director of the Office of Policy and Management.

According to Barnes, she will play an important role in drafting budget-related legislation, as well as reviewing regulations and state contracts.

Wagner has worked in state government since 2006, having served as deputy legal counsel for Gov. Dannel Malloy and the Connecticut Senate Democrats before becoming director of legal affairs at the state Department of Education.

She has experience crafting legislation, regulations and government contracts, and has represented state entities before regulators.
