CIFA hunting for new executive director

WASHINGTON — The Council of Infrastructure Financing Authorities is asking individuals or firms to submit proposals to serve as its executive director.

Rick Farrell, the group’s current executive director, plans to retire later this year. CIFA wants proposals to replace him to be submitted electronically to him at rfarrell@madisonassoc.com by 4:00 pm (EST) on March 2.

CIFA is a national organization of state, regional and local entities working for water infrastructure funding from governments and the capital markets and for the effective use of those financial resources. Its membership includes Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Fund managers and other water infrastructure finance professionals.

Grant Davis will run California's largest water agency.

The group’s website — www.cifanet.org — contains a six-page paper on the search that contains CIFA’s background and objectives, as well as the executive director’s scope of services and specific administrative and management services.

The paper also recommends the format and contents of any proposals submitted.

The CIFA Executive Director Search Committee will review all proposals next month. In-person interviews of selected finalists will be conducted at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill on March 27-28.

The successful applicant is expected to be announced by April 15.
