WASHINGTON — The American College of Bond Counsel yesterday named 20 new fellows to its group and announced the nominations of four officers and five new directors to lead the association.
Margaret Pope of Pope Ziegler LLC has been nominated to be the group’s president, while Robert Dean Pope of Hunton & Williams LLP has been nominated for the vice president spot.
Clifford M. Gerber of Sidley Austin LLP and Philip C. Genetos of Ice Miller LLP have been nominated for the treasurer and secretary positions, respectively.
The college also nominated five directors, including J. Foster Clark of Balch & Bingham LLP, Albert Simons 3d of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, and Fredric Alan Weber of Fulbright & Jaworski LLP. Margaret Pope and Robert Dean Pope, who are not related, were also nominated to those positions.
The regular fellows of the bond counsel college will vote on the nominations at its annual meeting in Phoenix on Oct. 29.
Formed in 1995, the American College of Bond Counsel was established to recognize attorneys with “reputations among their peers for their skill, experience and high standards of professional and ethical conduct in the practice of bond law,” according to information on the group’s Web site.
The college also announced yesterday that 20 more bond attorneys have joined the college’s ranks as fellows.
