BDA Hires New Lobbying Firm

The Bond Dealers of America announced Wednesday that it has hired Washington lobbying firm Urban Swirski & Associates to advocate the group's legislative and policy priorities.

"The newly formed relationship with Urban Swirski expands and enhances the BDA's federal advocacy for middle market and regional securities dealers active in the U.S. fixed income markets," the dealer group's president and chief executive officer Mike Nicholas said in a statement. "This relationship provides additional, direct links to key decision makers in Washington, DC and provides more tangible benefits to BDA member firms."

Urban Swirski's clients currently include insurance and retirement companies such as MetLife and MassMutual Financial Group, as well as philanthropic groups. The firm's co-founders, Anne Urban and Sandra Swirski, have held posts on Capitol Hill as tax and economic advisors in both the House and Senate.
