Richard Ciccarone, president and chief executive of Merritt Research Services LLC, will speak at the Nov. 4 meeting of the Philadelphia Municipal Analyst Society.
His presentation is titled: "The post-Detroit Aftershock: Putting Big-City Credit Back in the Spotlight."
Janney Capital Markets will host the meeting at its 20th-floor headquarters at 1717 Arch St., Center City Philadelphia. Lunch is at noon and the presentation will begin at 12:30 p.m. The program is expected to resume after a break at about 2:30.
After Ciccarone speaks, Tim Hadley and James Morris from Investortools Inc. will present techniques used to help triage credit surveillance, and the latest additions to the company's CreditScope, credit analysis software system that institutional investors, investment bankers and credit analysts use.
The society, which goes by the acronym phAMAS, began last year. Its forming committee consists of Bill Bonawitz from PNC Capital Advisors; Tom Kozlik of Janney Capital Markets; Ron Mintz of Vanguard Group; and Stephen Winterstein of Wilmington Trust Investment Advisors.
