PhAMAS Meeting to Highlight Philadelphia Muni Roots

Terence M. Smith, CEO of Smith's Research & Gradings, will provide a historical perspective on Philadelphia's deep financial roots and its relation to the bond market at the Dec. 10 Philadelphia Area Municipal Analyst Society holiday party.

Smith said he will highlight some of his firm's research from the Philadelphia Stock Exchange Archives that includes details on advantages of tax-free municipal bonds.

"Not everyone knows the Philadelphia Stock Exchange was first to be founded in America," said Smith, who founded who Global Guaranty's All-American Municipal Analysts Team in 1990 prior to forming his research firm. "It financed the Revolutionary war, the First Bank of the United States and traded municipal bonds."

The PhAMAS holiday party meeting is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Top of the Tower on 1717 Arch Street, 51st Floor. For further information or to register, click here.
