CHICAGO – Chicago-based public finance attorney Lorraine Tyson has joined Greenberg Traurig LLP's corporate and securities team, where her practice is expected to cross over the corporate and municipal sectors.
Greenberg said Tyson, who previously worked at Pugh, Jones & Johnson PC, joined the firm's institutional private placement team along with Michael Robson, who came from Chapman and Cutler LLP. They joined the firm as shareholders.
Tyson's practice will cover corporate finance, privatization, and public finance transactions. She will spend most of her time on corporate institutional private placements representing insurance companies, pension funds, banks, finance companies, and other institutional investors and advising clients on public-private transactions.
"Given her considerable experience in the public finance arena, she will continue to work on public finance transactions as bond counsel, underwriter's counsel, remarketing agent counsel, issuer's counsel, or letter of credit counsel," the firm said in a statement earlier this month.
"Michael and Lorraine both bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to Greenberg Traurig and they will be terrific additions to our private placement team," said Peter Lieberman, deputy co-chair of the Global Corporate & Securities Practice.
Tyson has worked with most major Illinois-based government issuers including the state as well as not-for-profit borrowers. She has served as a member of the Internal Revenue Service's Advisory Committee on Tax Exempt and Government Entities and on the board of the National Association of Bond Lawyers.
