Steve Genyk New Chairman of BDA Board

WASHINGTON - Bond Dealers of America has tapped Steve Genyk, a managing director and the head of fixed income capital markets at Janney Montgomery Scott, as the new chairman of its board for fiscal 2015, which started March 1.

At its fourth quarter meeting on Feb. 5, the board also approved as its vice chair John Fechter, senior vice president and director of taxable fixed income trading at Wells Fargo Advisors. Cindy Higgins, senior vice president and a managing director in Comerica Securities' capital markets group, is the board's new treasurer.

BDA members approved five new directors for the group's board: Tom Dannenberg, president and chief executive officer at Hutchinson, Shockey, Erley & Co.; Angelique David, senior managing director, general counsel and corporate secretary at Ziegler; Keith Kolb, head of public finance at Robert W. Baird; John Rolander, senior managing director, general counsel and corporate secretary at Fifth Third Securities; and Don Winton, chief operating officer at Crews & Associates, Inc.

"The newly elected directors and Board leadership will strengthen the BDA with their innovative vision, direct engagement, and guidance," said Mike Nicholas, BDA's chief executive officer. "The BDA continues to promote the interests of middle-market and regional securities firms in the face of increasing federal regulation and shifting market dynamics."
