ADP Estimates Job Growth of 213,000 for September

Private-sector employment rose 213,000 in September on a seasonally adjusted basis, according to the ADP national employment report.

Its estimate for August was revised down to a 202,000 gain from the originally reported 204,000 increase.

Economists polled by Thomson Reuters expected a 210,000 increase in the September payrolls number.

"Goods-producing employment rose by 58,000 jobs in September, up from 42,000 jobs gained in August," according to the release. "The construction industry added 20,000 jobs over the month, below last month's gain of 23,000. Meanwhile, manufacturing added 35,000 jobs in September, the highest total in that sector since May 2010."
