CHICAGO - Kutak Rock LLP has added veteran public finance attorney Debbie Boye to its Chicago team.

Boye, who specializes in both public finance and global energy infrastructure, previously was a shareholder at Greenberg Traurig LLP and before that worked at Chapman and Cutler LLP.

Boye has worked with clients in the role of bond counsel, underwriters' counsel and bank counsel. She is admitted to practice in Illinois, California and Georgia.

"We are thrilled to have Debbi join Kutak Rock," said Jerry Wallack, Kutak's managing partner of the firm's Chicago office. "She brings tremendous experience that will further enhance our ability to provide excellent quality legal services to our clients. I have known Debbi for 25 years and have nothing but the highest regard for her work and professionalism."

Boye said in a statement that she is excited to join a firm she has long worked with on deals and that ranks in the top five to top 10 bond, disclosure and underwriters' counsel in the Thomson Reuters annual rankings. "My clients and I look forward to utilizing the expertise of Kutak Rock's nationally recognized public finance group," she said.

Kutak employs nine lawyers in Chicago, including seven devoted to public finance and two that also work on deals that cross over into the public finance arena.  The firm has about 100 lawyers nationally in its public finance group. It runs 16 offices across the country with a total of about 475 lawyers. They provide services that span corporate finance law, litigation, public finance, employment and employee benefits law, real estate, health care, securitization, banking, bankruptcy, insurance, intellectual property and technology law, tax, tax credits, antitrust and environmental law.

Kutak ranked third in the Midwest last year among bond counsel, working on deals valued at $3.9 billion, according to Thomson Reuters.
