Grossman Names Saintcyr Deputy Treasurer in Massachusetts

Massachusetts Treasurer Steven Grossman named Jessie Saintcyr as deputy treasurer, appointing his senior human resources official, the daughter of Haitian immigrants, as one of his top five advisors.

Saintcyr was hired at treasury in January 2011, and most recently served as an assistant treasurer and director of human resources and employment counsel.

In her first year at the agency, Saintcyr redesigned the human resources department and staff roles. She has also increased outreach to diverse professional organizations, resulting in 38% of new hires at Treasury being from diverse backgrounds.

A resident of Boston's Dorchester neighborhood, Saintcyr earned a bachelor's degree in political science and French from Gordon College in Wenham, Mass., and graduated from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University.
