Another Hospital Merger

The Illinois Health Services and Facilities Review Board last week advanced Central DuPage Health and Delnor Health System’s merger plans by approving an ownership change.

The new parent will be named CDH-Delnor Health System, although the two hospitals — both located in Chicago’s western suburbs — will retain their current names. The merger is expected to close by the end of the month.

Delnor is a 159-bed system based in Geneva. Central DuPage Health’s main facility is the 313-bed Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Central DuPage is rated double-A, while Delnor is in the single-A category.
