CREATE Funds Interchange

Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn on Monday announced $64 million in capital funding to help finance construction of an interchange in the Chicago suburb of Bensenville.

The grade-separation project — a key piece of the Chicago Regional Environmental and Transportation Efficiency program, also known as CREATE — is expected to improve regional transportation by separating Irving Park Road from the Canadian Pacific Railroad track east of York Road.

“As North America’s largest inland port, Illinois must make investments to move passengers and freight more quickly through our region,” Quinn said in a statement.
