The U.S. Department of Labor is apparently close to finishing its work on establishing a fiduciary standard for those who give retirement planning advice, Employee Benefit News reports. The Labor Department has proposed a change to the definition of fiduciary under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act that would expand the scope of those who become fiduciaries.
