Aerotropolis Idea Takes Flight in Southeast

John D. Kasarda, director of the Center for Air Commerce at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, developed the aerotropolis concept. Both Memphis and Atlanta counseled with Kasarda on the development of their aerotropolis plans.
Memphis International Airport, the second busiest airport worldwide for cargo volume, is the center of the city's aerotropolis plan.
