Yellen: Labor Market Looks Like Before Recession; Won't Quit as Chair

The labor market "looks a lot like it did before the recession, Fed chair Janet Yellen said in response to a question Wednesday.

"There is a normal amount of slack," she said.

When asked about whether she would finish her term on the board if not reappointed chair, Yellen said she hasn't made a decision about the future and she "may or may not be reappointed" but that wasn't a discussion "for today." She did commit to finishing her term as chair.
